Peace

May God himself, the God [of peace] who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together—spirit, soul, and body—and keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ. The One who called you is completely dependable. If he said it, he’ll do it! (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 The Message)

Do you ever wake up with a lot on your mind?

Worrying and overthinking about the day ahead were messing with my ability to relax and converse with GOD.

I messed around with the images and words for the collage, but an overwhelming frustration continued to weigh me down. I wanted to go hide in solitude, but I needed to engage with my planned day.

I texted and emailed some friends to lift me up in prayer to find peace in spite of my anxious thoughts.

Asking for others to pray for me and relaxing into GOD’s presence helped. His peace began to breakthrough my anxious thoughts. I chose to think less and trust more.

I needed Brother Lawrence’s advice:

“That useless thoughts spoil all: that the mischief began there; but that we ought to reject them, as soon as we perceived their impertinence to the matter in hand . . .and return to our communion with GOD.”

How do you focus your thoughts on GOD,

especially when life crowds out your peace?

  1. Yes! I have been thinking that here lately…. that very same thing.. “That useless thoughts spoil all.” I am so glad you have faithfully pushed through this 31 day challenge and all the challenges that you have faced to keep God the focus of your life. I am finding that when I write, God meets me there and my thoughts are totally transformed from when I first pick up the pen to when I finish writing. I can’t escape the goodness of God no matter what is going on around me in this world of ours. Praying your daily challenge was met with favor. Love you Kel ❤

Think less, and trust more. A great mantra, I’m writing that one down! And love the think less blackboard quote – perfect! Nearly 75% through October now!

    1. Victoria- Thanks for cheering me on! It’s been great to “meet” you this month. I look forward to the Advent{ures} ahead…”think less, trust more” could be our mantra for the holidays, too!

I love a dialogue. Be the first to start a discussion!
