GOD+ART (DAY 4)

Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

(1 Peter 1:8-9 NIV)

That we ought to quicken, i.e.,

to enliven our faith.

Today’s offering became a fun response to Brother Lawrence’s challenge to enliven or quicken our faith. I started out with several images that included plant imagery and the one of the person looking out at the ocean. After I pasted everything down, I was drawn to the phrase “10 Ideas for,” which I used as a prompt to look for ten ideas or prompts to refresh my heart, i.e., enliven my faith.

Here are the ten things I came up with:

1. Define essence.

2. Make your day festive.

3. Journal Prompt: “How might they communicate? What might they learn from each other?”

4. Begin a new story.

5. Thinking . . .

6. Adventure!

7. Invent new “to-do” list.

8. Scripture notebook

9. Engage your imagination.

10. Listen.

Some phrases were found words on scraps of a magazine article, which I almost threw away. (See ideas 7,8 and 10)

Others contained a word or phrase that piqued my interest. And I really liked the open ended questions for idea 3.

My plan is to take some time to try one of these ideas, as a unique and refreshing way to converse with GOD. Who knows, this collage may even prompt more ARTful ways of expressing my love to GOD.

The open-ended nature of this process encourages me to invite you to pick an idea for yourself. Interpret it any way the Spirit leads. I would love to hear about your adventures! If you want to send me a photo of your adventures, send it to me via twitter @kelrohlf or Instagram: kelrohlf. Use #godart, if you want.

Happy Conversations with GOD!
