I woke up uncomfortable. Uncomfortable from eating too much junk this past weekend. Unsettled because my house needs some serious spring cleaning. Unhappy because I can’t ease my own discomfort, grief and pain with some creative outlet or by creating a cozy space to read and rest in God’s presence.

I went outside to my porch swing, and it felt too exposed and chilly. I went to my big comfy chair and our precocious dog wanted to sit on my lap. I went to the back patio with a wool wrap around my shoulders, journal in hand and a promising book along with the sun on my face. The wind tried to whip open the door that has a broken latch, the dog started barking ferociously and I lost it; I went back to bed.

Upon my bed I pouted, fumed and told God how I FELT about this lack of comfort in my life. I wanted to run away to a secluded beach. Even a few days at a hotel might get me out my funk, I told Him. He gently replied: UNPLUG!

A relief washed over me. I could unplug from media, from anxious thoughts about the future, from my own self-pity and re-connect with HIM!

That said, I am off to re-connect and re-discover God’s heart, dreams and desires for now. I am going to rest in the hammock of His unfailing love. See you next month!

Going back to Jesus to have my life re-conciled with his plans and purposes! Will be back soon with some re-newed hope and a re-vised vision.
