Thrilling Guest Thursdays are Back!

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil.
For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!
(Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 ESV)

God uses our presence, our friendships and our words and prayers to lift one another up. One of the great encouragements of being a blogger is meeting others who walk the same path. We cheer one another on and share space to encourage, comfort and challenge one another.

Dawn Paoletta, a modern day disciple, as she calls herself, is one of those friends. She loves to share the power of words through journaling, blogging, and poetry. Today, she has graciously agreed to link up her newest Spring poem, which I also see as a vulnerable prayer:

Spring Desire by Dawn Paoletta

I find myself longing for something new.

Not that I am discontent.

I am not.

I have peace.

Am content.

Yet I feel a longing within,

not dissatisfaction,

for that stirs up

negative connotations.

Is there a fresh wind blowing?

Thanks, Dawn!

  1. Loved your poem, Dawn, and the hope you share. Ah….fresh wind blowing. Can't we all use a fresh breeze, a fresh inbreathing of the Holy Spirit? Thank you for the hope of spring through your words.LoveLynn

  2. Amen, Lynn! Thanks for reading!

  3. Kel, thanks for sharing! You are such an encouragement to me.Tonight as I left the gym where I work (classes 4 nights a week)- I thought of you and the kindred spirit you are and how that encourages me – I thought how different I am from those I am around at times yet considered that also there are others like me…who love Him, and seek His face and desire to walk with Him. Not that we are perfect-no; just that we want to lean hard on grace…I sense it in you and am grateful for these blogging friendships He has given! They are such an encouragement to my heart and soul! Honored to be here with you. In His Grace, Dawn

  4. Dawn-This was the biggest surprise to me about blogging…that I would form kindred friendships…I feel the same way…we are sisters in the Lord and the grace He pours out into our hearts is experienced through our friendships! What a joy to know you and share the journey! Peace and grace-Kel

  5. Wonderful! I love to bond with other ladies that have a encouraging heart! Real friendships….

  6. Kel, I had meant to say how much I love your picture of the dogwood blossoms! It has been so fascinating for me to see your beautiful photos, because I never knew that you had this talent. Last spring God really spoke to me through the dogwoods. They are a message of crucifixion and new life all at once, and a reminder that I need to die to self. So glad you chose that image here.Lynni

  7. Thanks for the link to Dawn's poem, Kel. Although we don't have winter in the Philippines, I get a very vivid picture through shared pictures and experiences. And I love Spring which means hope or death to life. A resurrection.Beautiful souls, beautiful songs and worship to God.

I love a dialogue. Be the first to start a discussion!
