Advent{ures}: Let’s Go to Bethlehem
while you may be found;
surely the rising of the mighty waters
will not reach them.
You are my hiding place;
you will protect me from trouble
and surround me with songs of deliverance.
Advent{ures}: Let’s Go to Bethlehem
I can't help but think of this hymn, prompted by your post, Kel: "Rock of Ages, cleft for me, let me hide myself in Thee." May we, like Moses, hide ourselves in the clefr of the Rock. I get your meaning, but the truth is, we can never hide from Jesus: Ps. 139….Where can I go from your Spirit?Where can I flee from your presence?If I go up to the heavens, you are there;if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.If I rise on the wings of the dawn,if I settle on the far side of the sea,even there your hand will guide me,your right hand will hold me fast.Isn't that a beautiful psalm? Thank you for your faithful (and excellent!) posting.Love,Lynni
Lynni- I appreciate your comments and directing us to related hymns and Scripture…I love the imagery of God being our hiding place and the truth that even though I may feel like hiding, there is no place that I can go from His gracious, loving Presence!
Amen, Kel. Amen!
