Serendipity: The Finding of Valuable Things Not Sought For

Tuesday’s Pic

Friday was Mom’s birthday, and over breakfast she mentioned that she would like to find a special mug for her morning coffee. On Saturday, I was at women’s conference and this mug caught my attention. Instead of a card, I decided to gift her with this reminder that I would be praying for her each morning as she sips her coffee.
 



  
On Sunday, I brought it over to Mom for the family gathering honoring her birth. I pulled out the mug, and she started crying. Little did I know the impact a coffee mug would produce.
 
Through the tears, she remembered getting a card with this same exact prayer from her own mother years ago. Grandma has gone on to be with Jesus, for many years now, but her prayers linger behind.
 

I Said A Prayer For You Today

I said a prayer for you today
And know God must have heard.
I felt the answer in my heart
Although He spoke no word!

I didn’t ask for wealth or fame
(I knew you wouldn’t mind).
I asked him to send treasures
Of a far more lasting kind!

I asked that He be near you
At the start of each new day;
To grant you health and blessings
And friends to share your way!

I asked for happiness for you
In all things great and small.
But it was for His loving care
I prayed the most of all!

    Love this Kel!! A few years ago some old college friends and I met for a reunion… the whole week we were looking for a mug that we could all buy and then take home, so that each of us would pray for each other every time we use it. We found the perfect one, and I always think of them even when i open my cabinet and see it there. I love that this touched your mom so much.

    Think of all the little details God worked out so she could enjoy such an incredibly touching gift.Now when she sips she gets to savor the moments with both her daughter and her mom. Mugs are special to me and I treasure the ones that come from someone special. You're right it brings the memories and qualities I enjoyed in them to mind and makes me smile.And what a gift He gave you when you learn that the cup was more perfect than you imagined.Glad you're writing the 31 days of Nourishment for the Soul.
